When living in a smaller place, you find ways to be creative with storage needs. When our son was born, the guestroom/office became the baby room and so the office supplies moved into the dining room. We use a bookshelf to house our notebooks, pencils, cookbooks, etc. It looks really cluttered so I decided to make a curtain to put in front of the shelves. I chose a fabric that matches the paint color in our dining room because I wanted the curtain to blend into the room.
I measured the bookcase and sewed a basic curtain with a top sleeve to slide in a spring loaded curtain rod. The after picture is much more organized and we can easily pull out items when we need them.
