About Me

I love sewing and crafting! When I was eight years old, I learned how to hand sew my Girl Scout Brownie badges onto my sash.  I remember watching my mother use her sewing machine to make my sister's Christmas play costume and thinking how amazing that machine was.  I learned how to use her sewing machine but it wasn't until college when I started sewing more complicated projects.

My grandmother bought me my first sewing machine for Christmas in 2002 and I started experimenting with it.  A friend explained how she made her t-shirt quilt and because I had so many t-shirts, I decided to make one for myself. And now I've made many other t-shirt quilts for friends and family over the years.

When I moved to Richmond, I took some sewing classes at Quilting Adventures and learned new projects such as handbags, wallets, Christmas stockings, and more. I'm excited to get started on new projects which I will continue to post here. I decided to start this blog so that I can keep track of the sewing projects and other crafts that I've made. Pinterest has inspired me to be more creative and trying new projects. Any project ideas from Pinterest and other blogs, I will link to their pages.

I've also been inspired to try new baking projects such as cake pops and themed cakes.  I'm posting those baked goods on my blog so I can remember what baking challenges I've tried over the years.

Thanks for stoping by and visiting my blog! Please feel free to email me if you would like to connect or have any questions.  kristin.v.howell@gmail.com
