Cupcakes & Coupons

Red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting is the perfect Valentine's Day dessert. I used cherry flavored m&ms for the cherry on top.

I've made Valentine's coupons in the past but this year I thought I'd make them more fancy with scrapbook paper.
Homemade cards can be so much more personal.  For my husband, I used a picture from our wedding for his Valentine's Day card.
Also the LOVE sign is made with scrapbook card stock.  Now I can't help but make cute signs for holidays and birthdays. Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day Card

This is my first homemade card which was fun and easy to make.  First, I sewed a small heart pillow for my son to hold and took some pictures.  I chose my favorite, printed it, and glued it on the front.  I love decorative ribbon which gave the card more character.  On the inside, I used his thumb print to make a heart.  It's definitely a cute card for the grandparents!

Football Cupcakes

Even though I'm not the biggest football fan, I enjoy getting together with friends to watch the Super Bowl. This year I thought it would be fun to make a big football out of cupcakes. I saw it at the grocery store and figured that it wouldn't be too hard to make. There are 24 chocolate cupcakes under all of that icing.

Bookshelf Curtain

When living in a smaller place, you find ways to be creative with storage needs.  When our son was born, the guestroom/office became the baby room and so the office supplies moved into the dining room.  We use a bookshelf to house our notebooks, pencils, cookbooks, etc.  It looks really cluttered so I decided to make a curtain to put in front of the shelves.  I chose a fabric that matches the paint color in our dining room because I wanted the curtain to blend into the room.
I measured the bookcase and sewed a basic curtain with a top sleeve to slide in a spring loaded curtain rod.
The after picture is much more organized and we can easily pull out items when we need them.
