Minion Christmas Ornaments

I found a cute tutorial on Pinterest for making minion ornaments. I had to try to make them and I love how they turned out.  I made one for each of my boys and I wrote their names and the year on the back.  All I did was put yellow paint in a clear plastic ornament and moved the ornament around until the paint covered the entire inside.  I did make the mistake of not letting the paint dry before hanging it on the tree.  So I had to then put the ornaments upside down in a paper cup until the paint was all dry.  My boys loved the ornaments and they are excited to pull them out every year to add to our tree.

Lego Cupcakes & Crayon Legos

Over the past few months, my son started playing and building with Legos.  And he was very excited to have a Lego themed 5th birthday party! I found some great ideas from Pinterest.  I ordered some Lego molds from Amazon.  I actually ordered 2 sets because I made colored candies to top the cupcakes and also melted crayons into Legos for thank you gifts.

The crayons were fun to make and Nathan helped make them for his friends.  We just broke crayons into pieces and melted them into the molds.  I found these cute printable from a blogger and attached them to treat bags for the crayons.

Quilted Pillow

I love making t-shirt quilts but they can take a long time to make.  This lengthy process includes cutting the t-shirts, arranging the pattern, sewing, and adding the backing.  I'm always so proud of the finished product but also glad when it is finally finished.

A friend of mine asked me to make a pillow with the t-shirt pockets and I was up for the new challenge.  I enjoyed making the quilted pillow and it definitely did not take as long as making a large t-shirt quilt.  For this pillow, I added a blue border between the squares to make the pillow bigger otherwise it would have been a pretty small pillow.

Construction Birthday Cake

Both of my boys love playing with trucks and they are constantly pushing them around the house.  For my youngest son's second birthday, I made a construction birthday cake.  It was just 2 round stacked cakes with chocolate icing.  I used the food processor to make Oreos look like dirt for the construction trucks.  And I used a few toy trucks for the cake toppers.  Jack was excited to eat the cake and play with the toys on top.
